As for some of you who may have remembered looking at the past posts, my very amazing and talented friend, Shannen, took pictures for the blog. If you haven’t seen them, check them out here. Click Click Click When I came back to school and started to brain-storming about different posts I wanted to do, I remembered that there were still some pictures that I haven’t posted from Shannen and I’s day. So here they are! The bleach jacket is one of my designs and check out how to make your own from this post.

The past couple of weeks have simply been amazing. There is no other word to describe my experiences and passion I now have from the outcome of this blog, getting into Teen Vogue Fashion U, and now applying to FIT. My friends and family have been nothing more than supportive behind the ideas of where I want to take this website and my future. I haven’t even had the site for two months and already have done so much with it, got into a major conference, and finishing the final details of my first sponsor. I am so happy and grateful for the blog’s outcome and most importantly, I am so proud of myself for finally pursuing not only career, but my dreams and I could not be any happier.

Cheers. Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

My Fall Attire

Today I was suppose to be back to school shopping (kitchen and bathroom esstentials..it’s all boring to me).. but naturally it turned into buying clothes, surprise there! So I went into my work (local consignment store) and got multiple fall pieces that I know will be worn down to the core by the first snow fall.

Heels: Tribal & Animal Prints

I bought these two AMAZING pairs of shoes that I plan on prancing up and down IUP’s campus in about a week.

I picked these shoes out at T.J Maxx for $10 (they were on clearance).

(As you can see) these shoes have no straps on them (which explains why they are on clearance). Therefore, tomorrow I am going to make a trip to Michael’s and get orange-colored ribbon to use as the straps. Tip: This could be a great idea for a change of look with other shoes.

These shoes were originally from H&M (and I believe they are still in the stores) but I only got them for $11. Since the color and style are both so basic, they will be easily worn going to class or going out this semester.

Printed Jeans

I had my eyes on these bad boys for a while at work, but never got the nerve to finally get them… and now, couldn’t be happier with my purchase. Since the color is somewhat dull, the jeans will look very chic with a pair of brown boots and a white T.. a perfect going to class outfit.

Detailed Dresses

When I was packing, I was becoming quite bored with the same style and look to the dresses that I was planning on bringing to school. Luckily, I found both of these items today and I am IN LOVE with the details on both of them.

I love the top part of this dress.

I hope this post gave all of you some ideas for your back to school shopping (cannot believe that summer is actually over). At least we all have these amazing trends to look forward too. Comment below & let me know what some of the items you are all purchasing! Cheers & Happy Shopping – H

Fall Favorite: Big Sweaters

When it comes to Fall trends.. you can never go wrong with a big sweater. This sweater, I stole from my mom’s closet (shhh..) and its a older piece that we got on sale from Free People. LOVE IT. You can dress it up or down and it always seems to get worn Fall after Fall.. Since Shannen and I took these pictures when it was hot as hell outside, I paired it with Urban Outfitter shorts and one of their graphic T’s.. The necklace is vintage and one of my favorite pieces. Enjoy  -H

My favorite fall trends.

Trends in post: Costume vintage jewelry, short boots, printed pants, & big sweaters.

As fall semester is quickly approaching for most of us (and the limited time for all of the packing, book ordering, & etc), I thought now would be the best time for a fall outfit post! Here are some of my favorite fall trends and newer things I got for the approaching school year. Also, my friend Shannen took all of the photos (and they look AMAZING), so check out her site that I will post at the end of the blog… enjoy.

Outfit: Boho Chic

I love this outfit because of how comfortable the pants are. Therefore, I thought it would be a great choice for early morning classes and more ideas for comfortable clothing for those (gotta love them) 8 AMS..

Tip: If you are wearing baggy clothing (like the pants and  the sweater), pick a tighter tank or shirt to wear underneath the sweater so the entire outfit does not look so big on a figure. Also if you are wearing baggy pants, always pick shorter boots to go with them. With taller boots, the extra fabric around the knee ends up folding over.

Where I got this look?: Pants & Necklaces: Goodwill, Tank: H&M, Sweater: (older) Pac Sun, Boots: Vintage, Purse: (older) Free People, Bracelet: T.J Maxx

Check out Shannen’s photos here!

I styled several more outfits for fall trends posts, so follow any of the media accounts for when the posts will be up!

Cheers – H

Trend Alert: Tribal Prints

Hello, hello. After a very successful launch of the blog, lets keep the posts coming! The trend that I have two outfits for is one of my absolute favorite, tribal prints.

The black and white vintage jacket that I paired  with the high-waisted Cheap Monday black pants and (of course) all Pylon Jeffrey Campbell’s was only $10  at my work!

Tip: With Tribal prints, there are normally several different colors. This is why, I am a huge fan of pairing the “tribal” item with one bold color, and one dull color for completing the look. The pants outfit with the orange shirt and the shorts outfit with the turquoise necklace. Bold vs. dull.

Where did I get these looks?: Outfit with pants – Pants: Cheap Monday from Urban Outfitters, Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell, Shirt: My design , Jacket: Vintage, Necklace: Vintage Betsey Johnson, Bracelet: T.J Maxx Outfit with shorts– Shorts: (old) Forever 21, Shirt: (old) Free People

Trend: Animal Print

Trend: Animal Print

For my 20th birthday (earlier this July), I was planning on getting the new, red leather, studded Jeffrey Campbells until my birthday morning when my mom sent me a text saying, “Wasn’t sure which pair you wanted, but getting you the shoes. Do you want them in red, plaid, or cheetah?” Uh.. Cheetah? SINCE WHEN did the awesome, almost infamous, studded Jeffrey Campbells come in cheetah? I jumped out of bed, raced my computer, and looked them up… and fell in love. So I started putting together some outfits I can wear them with and made a few headbands as well (look on My Designs page) for the headbands.

Outfit #1 (look for more later)

I styled this outfit for my application with Teen Vogue’s Fashion U program (CROSS YOUR FINGERS) and will be sending one of the outfit’s pictures. I wanted something that displayed an animal print item with a classic dress, and some add-ons that would not be expected.

Where I got this look?: Dress: (it was very cheap, and now is VERY old) from Thrift shop in Paris, Shoes: (Brand Spankin’ New) Jeffrey Campbell, Necklace : (old) my work, Jacket: (old) Velvet! And was $12 from my work Earrings: (old) Betsey Johnson
